Sometimes, I start out with a small version of my composition to test different colourways rapidly.

Handweaving on the TC2 at Artscape Daniels Launchpand back in 2022.

Brainstorming colours for future weavings, staring at the beautiful paper and mohair yarns at the TextielMuseum in Tilburg.

The massive full-width jacquard loom at the Swedish School of Textiles. (… this loom has 90.8 ends / cm, which is wild!)

I was quite proud of this hand-painted wool warp! Originally, the colours had turned out muddy, but then I had the fabulous idea to over-dye everything pink. The pallet was much improved.

My first samples exploring floats and their role in expressing colour in image weaving. These tests sampled varying distances of colour stripes, to see how the transition between yarns would behave.

The giant 3-meter wide non-repeating jacquard at the TextielMuseum! (this loom has a warp density of 36 ends/cm for those who like to know these little things).
