Emma Burzynski (b.1997, Canada) is a technically driven artist and designer, working with both hand and industrial weaving technologies to explore the relationships of colour, weave binding, material, and image.
In her spare time, she enjoys developing written manuals and small weave programs.
She completed her BFA in Studio Art with a focus in Fiber & Material Studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) in 2019, and recently received her master’s degree in textile design at the Swedish School of Textiles (SST) in 2025.
Emma has exhibited textile works and research in Canada, the United States, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden.
Most recently, Emma has been generously awarded a five-month design internship with IKEA, as well as the Young Talent Award at the TextielLab in Tilburg which features a residency/internship period.
